Late 2009 brought Transistor to Andersonville, up north in Chicago. The shop is cozy and loaded with great things to buy: Books, Music, Art, Electronics and more. The owners enjoy talking about their wares, as they choose them with care and taste. Even the walls get in on the fun, turning the shop into a cool art gallery loaded with lovely photographs by Chicago photographers. As if that wasn’t enough, they host film screenings, seminars, and live music shows.
Appearing on their walls in mid-December is your very own BRHischier. A selection of his Darkitecture prints will be available for purchase direct from Transistor. In addition to the photography, his book Proverbs For The Painfully Aware will also be for sale, as well as a selection of his Adorable Horrible greeting cards called Animals In Ornaments.
From their website: Transistor is equal parts art gallery, book and magazine shop, CD & record store, electronics boutique, and more. We have a resale section, called The Closet (by Rani). We feature free film screenings, performances, workshops and pingpong.
